My fertility journey has been challenging to say the least. To make it short and sweet this is how I would describe my journey: disbelief, scared, challenged, bold, strong, fighter and extreme endurance. The most difficult part was finding out that I had stage three endometriosis AFTER I cycled through 2 IUI’s, 5 IVF rounds, 1 PGS FET. That was hard because I asked for a laparoscopy the very first IVF failure of 2 5-day blastocysts. My doctor told me that it was exploratory and unethical – which obviously, was not true. I did everything from changing my diet, acupuncture, herbs, vitamins, inter-lipids -- you name it I’ve tried it! In December of 2014, right before my first IVF cycle, I started a blog called “Not Just A Beauty Blogger,” where I shared my fertility journey. It made me feel good knowing that I wasn’t alone. I received emails from women all over the world. Coming out about your story connects to all the women that have also struggled. To my fellow fertility sister who is struggling with her own fertility, I would say: believe in yourself and to listen to your body. Do your research and know everything you can about your diagnosis. Embower yourself. That will give you options. Read positive things (not just things about fertility) and do things that make you happy.
