Five years ago I met my Prince Charming and fell pregnant instantly. Eight weeks later, not yet even aware I was pregnant, I miscarried. We were very early into our relationship when this happened, but I was heartbroken by the news. We decided to keep “trying” and as one month turned to six, I started to get concerned. It was time to seek help.
A dip dye test conducted by my doctor revealed that one of my tubes was so damaged that it would need to be removed. Half my womanhood, half my chances of becoming a mum–gone. Needless to say, I didn’t take the news well. After the procedure, I spent 6 months taking the highest dose of Clomid with no results. I felt lost, like a failure…and I was losing hope.
After years of waiting for IVF, new tests revealed that at 26 years old my AMH levels were very low and my egg count was that of a 35+ year old…and going down. I was preparing myself for the worst before we got the results of our first retrieval back: 6 eggs were retrieved! That may seem very low to some, but to me that was 6 chances at our miracle. 3 of our little embryos made it to day 5 blastocysts, 2 were transferred & both stuck! We're now 22 weeks pregnant with our two miracle TWIN BOYS!
While nobody in our lives had a clue what we were going through throughout this process, I shared absolutely everything from my anonymous Instagram account. I am so thankful to have discovered the amazing #TTC community. Honestly, I don't know how I would of got through this without all of those inspiring women.
